The Speaker's House Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the collection, use, disclosure and protection of Personal Data relating to volunteers, contributors, and other individuals who have provided The Speaker’s House with contact information.  "We", "us", and "our" relate to The Speaker’s House.

“Personal Data” means information pertaining to specific individuals, or by which specific individuals can be identified, including by name, identification number, address, or other personal characteristics or attributes. Basic Principles

The Speaker’s House recognizes the importance of protecting information we may collect from visitors to our site, through email or USPS mail, or at The Speaker’s House facility or events.  We will not collect or maintain Personal Data that is not relevant to or not required by our organization and will take reasonable steps to assure that Personal Data remains secure and accurate. Personal Data will be treated as confidential, and sufficient internal procedures and controls will be employed to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, use, copying, modification, or destruction. Personal Data maintained by us will not be used for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes for which it was collected. Personal Data will not be transferred to third parties.

On-line Registration

If you decide to register with our web site, you may be asked to provide your name, USPS address, email, and phone number. You may elect to refuse to provide any of this information, although if you do not provide a means of contacting you we will not be able to respond to you.

Use of Personal Data

We use the information that you provide to respond to a specific question, ask for your opinion, present information and solicitation requests via email and USPS mail in accordance with applicable law.

We endeavor to maintain Personal Data accurately and we rely on you to ensure that the Personal Data you provide to us is complete and accurate, and to notify us of updates and changes to Personal Data as required from time to time. If you would like to modify or delete your Personal Data, please contact us at privacy@speakershouse.org.  We will acknowledge receipt of your request and the action taken to the email address used to send us the request.

Opting Out of Email Communication with The Speaker’s House

You can choose to not receive emails from us at any time by simply sending an email with your name and email address with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line to privacy@speakershouse.org.

Enforcement

If you have questions or believe that your Personal Data is not handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy, please contact us at privacy@speakershouse.org.  We take the privacy of your data very seriously and will make every effort to review and resolve the issue quickly and amicably.

The Fine Print

  • This Privacy Policy is issued by The Speaker’s House and applies exclusively to The Speaker’s House.
  • The Speaker’s House may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, as we deem appropriate without any formal notice. The current policy is made public on our website www.speakershouse.org.
  • This document describes our Privacy Policy. However, this policy does not grant or create any additional rights or remedies for you or any additional obligations on the part of The Speaker’s House other than those obligations required by applicable law.
